Seashell II for Kaleidoscope
by Janet Parris
Seashell II is a color scheme for Greg Landweber's Kaleidoscope control panel
which has all Kaleidoscope resource icons re-colored to match the scheme. It
includes system folders, trash, and seagull sound for the windowshade opening.
I left the regular Kaleidoscope windowshade sound for the closing to allow it
to be aesthetically pleasing without being annoying. There are two versions:
the complete version, and one without seagull windowshade sound, folders,
trash, or custom-colored resource icons. To see the new folder and trash icons,
you will need to re-start your Mac.
Also included in the folder are icons I made from the icons in my scheme,
which are in Icon Archiver format, a Pict for the OS8 desktop pictures panel
or for use in Decor or other desktop picture program which I created to go with
the scheme, regular desktop textures (by me) for the desktop patterns control
panel, a Seashell Cursor for which I designed the art, and a folder of bulbs for
Holiday Lights using my scheme seashell icons.
Disclaimer: This color scheme was created and tested on a PowerMac
and is best viewed in thousands of colors, although it looks decent in 256 colors
and is passable (barely) in 16 colors. It has been tested with SchemeChecker.
The possible "Unneeded Resources" reported by SchemeChecker are neccessary
in my opinion; they are custom colored differently from the original resources.
The scheme is correctly designed. The cursor art was designed over a plain
freeware cursor I found; progamming is by Mattais Ulrich. Please do not
plagarize; I worked so many hours on Seashell II you would not believe it.
All original artwork copyright 1997 Janet Parris.
Seashell II is shareware, $6 for the most complete scheme created for
Kaleidoscope thus far. This is a one-time-only fee (except to already registered
users; no additional fee) because of the amount of extras added to this scheme.
All my other (49, so far) schemes are 5 for $5, 10 for $10, 30 for $20, 50 for $40
(that's about 60 cents per scheme). Please send your shareware payment to:
